    What is an IFSC code?

The Indian Financial System Code identifies participating bank branches for electronic transfers. Its eleven characters comprise a four-letter bank identifier, zero in the fifth position and a six-character branch component. That final component can contain letters as well as numbers.

How to find your bank’s IFSC

Check your bank’s current official website, banking application or a recent bank document. Older cheque leaves or saved beneficiaries may need rechecking. Here, enter an exact IFSC, a nine-digit MICR, or words from the supplied bank, branch, city and state names. A broad bank name asks for refinement; add the city and branch to narrow it.

    IFSC, branch codes and MICR

The last six IFSC characters are its branch-code component, not a claim about another internal bank identifier. MICR means Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. Its nine-digit banking code is associated with cheque processing and is not a substitute for an IFSC requested by a transfer form. A MICR may match multiple source records; review the branch information.

IFSC and NEFT, RTGS and IMPS

NEFT and RTGS are operated by RBI; IMPS is offered by NPCI. Individual payment flags here describe the pinned source, not guaranteed current transfer availability. Disputed flags are omitted. Use your bank’s instructions to confirm the channel and beneficiary requirements.

    Can IFSC details change?

Bank information may change and this release can lag updates or contain errors. Disappearance from a later dataset does not prove closure, merger or replacement. Similar addresses under different IFSCs do not establish that one replaces the other.

    Verify before a transfer

    1. Confirm the beneficiary and account details through a trusted channel.
    2. Compare the IFSC with current official bank information.
    3. Resolve any discrepancy in bank, branch or location before proceeding.
    4. Ask your bank about uncertain saved beneficiaries or older codes.

    Frequently asked questions

Why is a source field missing?

It may be absent, unusable or conflicted. We omit uncertain claims rather than infer values.

Why can a record appear only in search?

Exact lookup retains valid source records. A separate page additionally needs an identifiable bank, branch and usable state, city and address.

Does a match verify my recipient?

No. The finder does not validate account ownership or guarantee that a transfer will succeed.

How do I report a correction?

Email hello@ileven.in with the IFSC, source and date. Reports are reviewed before changes; they do not automatically overwrite the corpus.
